TECH/IT INDUSTRY TALENT ASSOCIATION · INCAP
A Technology Talent Pipeline Built by Employers.
Technology talent is essential far beyond technology companies. Indiana employers in healthcare, advanced manufacturing, financial services, logistics, government, and every other sector need people who can work with data, cybersecurity, software, AI, IT systems, and technology-enabled business functions. TechIndiana leads the Tech/IT Industry Talent Association so those employers can build that talent together — around shared statewide competency standards — instead of competing alone for a shrinking pool of experienced hires.

Why Employers Participate
Build talent instead of only buying it
Develop entry-level and internal talent for positions where experienced candidates are scarce — data, cybersecurity, AI, software, IT support, project management, and technology sales.
Shape the standard
Employers define the statewide competencies. You apply them inside your own systems, projects, and technology environment, so the training reflects the work you actually need done.
Share the infrastructure
TechIndiana runs the Intercompany Training Center (ICC) with Awesome People Leaders and Ivy Tech Community College, handles recruiting and school coordination, and supplies the training plans, rubrics, and employer playbooks. You provide the job.
Two years to embed
Apprentices spend two years inside your culture under your supervisors. Employers see higher loyalty and alignment, near-zero recruiting cost, and typically reach break-even in year two — before counting recruiting and turnover savings.
Twelve Programs for 2027
Six high school Apprenticeship Programs and six adult Career Programs. All twelve use a common approach: employers evaluate participants against statewide competencies using work cases, supervisor evaluation rubrics, and a final portfolio and project. Optional certifications can supplement a program; completion is based on demonstrated competency.

Your Role as an Employer Partner
Help shape the training
Join the employers who set and refine the statewide competencies, and demonstrate them through your own systems, projects, and processes.
Provide the workplace experience
Host apprentices in meaningful paid work under appropriate supervision. High school apprentices spend progressively more time with you, including two full-time summers; adult trainees are with you about 30 hours a week.
Invest in talent development
Employers pay apprentice wages and an annual support fee that covers training, coordination, and materials. Funding support is available for many adult positions. Contact us for current fees, wage guidance, and funding options.
